Before you read on, stop. Take a deep breath in and slowly let it out. Do it again if it felt good. Now read with your mind completely open.

As spiritual beings, we are kind, strong and ready to accept change as a constant and wonderful experience. I have awakened to the idea of positive change and take responsibility for our complacent acceptance of corporate greed, fear-laden media and the outward negativity we place in the minds of children.

We can wake up to the impact of extreme use of toxins and chemicals that pollute and deplete our bodies and our planet. Over 80,000 chemicals have been brought into this country since WWII. These chemicals are on and in nearly every consumable item we use and discard, every home or building we walk into, and the air we breathe. We can realize the incredible impact our negative, fear-based attitudes have; not only on ourselves but on our children. As a people we can move forward, consciously.

In my picture of the future, I see corporations adapting to an attitude of reverence and no longer relying on toxic production, reliance on workers that have little or no choice, and our excessive consumption and waste. The media will rise above fear inducement, cover what is good and overlook the rest unless related to human safety. Standards for food exclude the use of any and all pesticides and food contaminated with pesticides will be seen for what it is: hazardous to your health. I see children being respected as complete human beings and allowed many opportunities for them to influence adults with their wonderful imaginations and perceptions, rather than being forced to accept the influence of unimaginative adult perspectives.

I am empowered by practicing avoidance when possible. Avoidance of toxins whether they come from our food, from the things we buy or from our thoughts, which translate into the words we use is how we can begin. The thoughts and words that we say to ourselves, each other and to our children and can be just as harmful spiritually as pesticides can be physically.

I hope we have a willingness to look at the truth non-politically, free from blame or refusal to accept it, with an attitude of unity and positivity. It is possible to take small steps that result in big changes. Thoughts and actions grow and then blossom, just as a seedling planted under the ground.

Julie Roland side-eye owl. Apathy and complacency do not serve humanity. Rather than making convenient, or comfortable decisions, whether about health, the environment or our future, we have the power to make conscious decisions that have purposeful, positive impact in our own lives.

We all have the ability to do as we like and consider the new possibilities we wish to explore. Thank you for being open to the suggestions I present. I accept you for the wonderful person you are and honor your choices.
